Scott Gowans - AFLW/VFLW Senior Coach

After an extended tenure across a variety of roles in women’s football, Gowans was appointed head coach of North’s inaugural AFLW and Melbourne University Women's Football Club in the VFLW.

A former assistant coach at Carlton, Gowans led MUWFC’s latest VFLW campaign, working closely with AFL Victoria ahead of North’s foray into the women’s competition in 2019.

Since 2012, Gowans has acquired experience as a senior coach in multiple roles, including stints at Diamond Creek and Vic Country Youth Girls.

Dennis Armfield - AFLW Senior Assistant Coach

Armfield will bolster North’s AFLW coaching team, supporting Gowans.

Having competed at AFL level, Armfield boasts a wealth of knowledge and has experience in a coaching capacity as a senior assistant to Gowans in the VFLW with MUWFC.

Armfield played 145 games for Carlton.

Lauren Morecroft - AFLW Assistant Coach/VFLW Senior Assistant Coach

Morecroft will provide a unique perspective after roles at the Western Bulldogs and Essendon, the latter as a playing assistant coach. 

Morecroft holds a Bachelor in Applied Science (Physical Education) and has helped develop the next wave of female coaches through the innovative ‘She Can’ coaching program.

Trent Bartlett - AFLW Assistant Coach (Tasmania)

Trent Bartlett will be a Tasmania-based assistant coach, primarily working with North’s AFLW listed players in the southern-most state.

Barlett brings playing experience from his time spent in the AFL system, having playing alongside North AFL senior coach Brad Scott in Brisbane.

Bartlett’s time in women’s football stretches back to 2011 when he coached the Tasmanian team to the National Championships.

Jackson Kornberg - AFLW Football Performance Coach

Kornberg brings two years of experience to his role as football performance coach. 

Kornberg has worked in varying capacities in football, including contributions as an assistant coach with Carlton’s AFLW team, while spending time in the Sandringham Dragons U18 boy's program as a line coach and a senior assistant for the Vic Metro U18 boy's program competing at the National Championships.

Alex Veitch - AFLW/VFLW High Performance Manager

Veitch will serve as the AFLW/VFLW High Performance Manager.

His experience in women’s football dates back to the TAC Cup Youth Girls program, where he worked with the Dandenong Stingrays in 2014.
