Assistant Performance Analyst

An exciting entry-level opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a full-time Assistant Performance Analyst within the Football Department. The successful candidate will join a team of Performance Analysts whose common goal is to collect, analyse and present data and vision to a variety of people within the department with the aim of improving both individual player and team performance.

The Role
Reporting to the Performance Analysis Manager, the key responsibilities for this role are to:

- Collect training data (live or post-session calling and coding of statistics)
- Stack multiple angles of training vision using SportsCode
- Collate training and match data relating to technical and tactical performance
- Work closely with development and assistant coaches to provide meaningful data/feedback to players
- Assist with Game Day set up of coaches’ box and bench as well as provide statistical information to coaches during the match
- Provide assistance to the High Performance team when required (e.g. physical assessments and testing of players)

What we’re looking for
Candidates are required to possess the following traits and qualifications:

- Relevant sport science degree or equivalent (postgraduate Honours or Masters preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing work hours and schedules (includes weekend work and some interstate travel may be required)
- Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of staff including coaches, athletes and fellow analysts
- Experience with SportsCode, Champion Data and Excel software
- Sound understanding of and passion for AFL

A valid Victorian Working with Children Check is required.
