Ranked 19th in total uncontested possessions

kangaroos.com.au says:

2012 loomed as a critical year for Liam Anthony and he responded with a career-high 19 games.

A ball magnet, Anthony averaged almost 25 possessions a game, yet he was dropped from the senior side after the Round 7 loss to the Western Bulldogs. After four matches on the outer he was recalled for the clash against Adelaide and cemented his spot for the rest of the season with a combination of hard running and improved defensive efforts.

Despite a quiet elimination final against the Eagles, Anthony took a big step forward.

Quotes

"He's been injured, badly, more than once. He's been dropped, and he's found ways back from both of those setbacks."
Emma Quayle (The Age)

"Liam had some things to work on and responded in the best possible fashion”
Brad Scott

"There were heroes on both sides of this battle. Anthony, with 26 possessions, was as brave as any of them for the Kangaroos."
