Media interviews can be an intimidating for any AFL player and staying composed while your team-mates are doing everything to put you off can be incredibly difficult as Mason Wood found out in Utah.
NMFC.com.au was interviewing the youngster for the first time when he was struck in the head by a deliberate kick from rookie Ben Speight.
Wood fell to his knees after the cruel blow and while bruised and battered, the smile on his face could not be wiped away as he got to his feet and completed the interview. As for Speight, he claimed it was an 'accident' - though his defence was a little thin without another marking target seen in the area.
