Off-season recruit Jordan Gysberts is edging closer to a debut in the royal blue and white after being named in North’s 25-man squad to take on the Crows.

The former Demon has found form in recent weeks at VFL level after playing regularly during the Kangaroos’ NAB Cup campaign.

Gysberts averaged closed to 20 possessions in his 19 matches with Melbourne, before joining North in a trade deal involving Cameron Pedersen.

With no omissions at this stage, the 21-year-old is among three inclusions; Will Sierakowski and Taylor Hine have also been named on an extended interchange bench.

Sierakowski was omitted from the team as North opted to go tall against the Eagles, while Hine was an emergency after returning from ankle soreness.

The final team will be announced on Friday afternoon.
