Luke Delaney lined up for the first time in the royal blue and white in close to a year on Friday night, but he hadn’t lost any of his touch.

The 24-year-old was rock-solid in defence, but it was his third quarter fly that brought about the greatest reception from the crowd.

As Geelong tried to win back the momentum, James Kelly pumped the ball to the wing, and a pack of tall targets including Trent West and Nathan Vardy. Delaney was the man to stand tallest though.

Preparing to spoil, he got a ride on the back of Vardy, knocking the ball down with one hand before juggling a fantastic mark on the ground.

The effort was enough to earn him a Lifebroker Mark of the Year nomination for Round 19.
