Brad Scott says Brent Harvey could play 400 games with the North veteran in career best form.

Speaking to SEN’s Morning Glory team, Scott couldn’t speak any more fondly of the veteran.

“There’s no reason to say he would keep playing next year and beyond, I mean that sounds unbelievable but you just look at his output and the way he trains and all the measures we take…”

A change of role could also be on the cards down the track.

“…he’s still fronting up each week so I think the sub rule’s going to help because I think he’d be a devastating little sub if he came on half-way through the third quarter.”

Harvey has been a match-winner for the Roos in the past two weeks and is doing serious damage to the opposition with late goals.

“Boomer’s playing as well as he ever has and he honestly never misses a session. He recovers quicker and in between games than anyone else…genetically he’s obviously gifted but the work he puts in is unbelievable…”

In a familiar position; Harvey is again on a one-year deal but won’t look to re-sign until late in the season.

“He doesn’t look too far ahead, I think he’s signed six one-year contracts in a row in about Round 16 or 17 of the last four years we’ve sat down and had a chat about playing on and it’s always been a pretty quick discussion so hopefully it’s the same again this year,” Scott added.

Harvey’s composure and leadership is just one aspect to a new look North with Nick Dal Santo adding some crucial on and off-field elements to the side.

“I thought he was fantastic when the heat was on…he’s been terrific for us…to bring another player in of his class really helps us in the midfield.”
