Ben Cunnington has overtaken Scott Thompson to be the leading Kangaroo in the AFL Coaches Association award.

The midfielder earned two votes from the coaches for his performance against Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday.

Continuing his strong 2014, the number 10 collected a game-high 10 clearances, five higher than any other player on the field.

In addition to his good work in close, Cunnington finished with 28 possessions and 7 marks to have the best all-around performance of any North player. It marks the third consecutive game Brad Scott and the opposing coach have deemed him worthy of votes.

Elsewhere, Collingwood players rounded out the votes. Reflective of the way the game panned out, Travis Cloke, Heritier Lumumba and Steele Sidebottom all led the way with eight votes each.
