Saturday’s VFL clash could be the perfect opportunity for Trent Dumont to show he’s worthy of a senior call-up.

North’s first pick in the 2013 Draft will come up against a strong Bulldogs’ on-ball brigade, minus his usual North Ballarat counterparts Liam Anthony and Ben Jacobs.

Brett Goodes, Jason Tutt, Christian Howard, Lin Jong and Lachie Hunter lead an all AFL-listed midfield for Footscray, with the Roosters relying heavily on their VFL contingent to get the job done.

Fur Dumont, it looms as the perfect time to shine against quality opposition.

Mitch Wilkins will enjoy his chance to move further up the ground onto a wing, while Eric Wallace will aim to provide his midfielders with first use in the ruck against Tom Campbell.

Remarkably, the Bulldogs’ entire starting 18 are on the club’s AFL list, while North Ballarat boasts just three Kangaroos.

At Werribee, there’s a strong North flavour across all lines.

Taylor Hine, Sam Wright and Scott McMahon will lead the charge from the back against VFL standalone team Coburg.

Werribee will go in heavy favourites boasting a record of six wins, four losses. Coburg sits in 14th place with just three wins.

Through the middle, Majak Daw will go in as the main ruck in the absence of Daniel Currie, and after a best-on-ground performance last week will be looking to stamp another claim for a recall.

Tim McGenniss is sure to land another vital stopping role, while coach John Lamont will look to Mason Wood and former Roo Ben Warren to provide the goals in attack.

Kayne Turner and Kieran Harper loom as a dangerous combination at the feet of the forwards.
