Story of the game:
It was a tight affair for most of the afternoon with the sides trading blows. A four goal to one second term for the Tigers gave them a slim eight-point lead at the main break. Turner hit the scoreboard first for the visitors in the third term, and despite peppering the goals, they were unable to capitalise.

Dan Currie kicked truly for a goal in his comeback match and Werribee maintained the lead with a quarter to play.

When Wood kicked his third goal for the day, the Tigers had the momentum in the form of a 21-point buffer and didn't look back, John Lamont's team getting the four-points.

Points of Interest:
1. Dan Currie got through unscathed after making a return from injury.

"He was very solid in his first game back. He had 37 hit-outs against Warnock, who had 36. So it was a very even contest. He also went forward, took some telling marks and kicked a goal which was really encouraging. He probably should have finished with two goals." - Senior Development Coach Gavin Brown

2. Kayne Turner spent time on the wing for the first time in his VFL career.

"He was forward for the first half and then we put him on the wing in the second. Kayne has a lot to learn but he's a very quick learner so this move will serve him well. He laid 7 tackles and some of them were absolutely fantastic...really ferocious and the type that cause turnovers. There's never been any doubt about his defensive game."

3. Mason Wood took on Carlton's Andrew McInnes and more than held his own.

"His work-rate was really pleasing today and he ran his opponent ragged at times. His accuracy in front of goal was great and it was a solid game, without being over the top."
