North Melbourne has accepted the findings of the Match Review Panel handed down to Daniel Wells, Aaron Black and Lindsay Thomas.

Wells was reported for two separate incidents; a striking charge in the third quarter and a rough conduct charge in the final term, both against Bulldog Shaun Higgins. Once the points from the incidents were tallied up, he was offered a one week suspension.

With a likely elimination final coming up, Wells’ one week suspension - his good record reduced it from three weeks - allows him to play in Round 23.

Director of Football, Geoff Walsh, explained the reasoning behind not challenging at the Tribunal.

“In weighing it all up, we felt compelled to accept the one-week ban and get on with things rather than take a risk.

“This allows him to still play a game before finals which is a positive for us.”

Meanwhile Black and Thomas were each fined $1200 for their involvement in a melee near the end of the second quarter. It was their first such offence.
