The fantasy nightmare that was Round 21 didn’t spare our team, with Scott Pendlebury and Jimmy Bartel failing to start. We also lost Josh Kennedy and Dayne Beams early on before they had a chance to put up a score.

Further injury and suspension will see us without Michael Barlow and Brent Harvey this week. It means that if Pendlebury doesn’t play, we’re looking at least a couple of zeroes.

Still, we managed to win comfortably against West Coast’s fan team and even managed to put up a semi respectable total of 2150. We defeated the Eagles by almost 800 points, while Brisbane knocked off our competition for second spot in Adelaide, meaning we are now four games clear. A good week, given the circumstances.

This week

This week the trade equation becomes pretty simple – trade out two guys that we won’t see again this season for some comparable players. Beams and Barlow are the simple options. We have cover for Brent Harvey with Tim Broomhead, who scored a nice 88 last week. Meanwhile Kennedy remains an outside chance to return next week.

It’s been a tough season, but we have stitched up second spot with just two weeks remaining – now to field the best possible team and finish off the year.
