While North Melbourne will no doubt draw on Round 4 for motivation on Friday night, its opposition is doing everything it can to forget.

The 43-point loss was the Swans’ only defeat at the SCG this year.

“I don’t want to remember too much because it wasn’t a great day,” co-captain McVeigh told the media on Monday.

“They (the Kangaroos) comprehensively beat us, but we’re a completely different team now and the way we were playing then is not the way we want to play.

“It was unacceptable for us and fortunately we turned it around.”

Following that game, Sydney went on a 12-game winning streak, thanks in large to a potent forward-line.

While the Swans only kicked six goals when the teams last met, they were without Kurt Tippett, Adam Goodes and Sam Reid.

Nevertheless, North’s defence has been ultra-consistent this year.

"(Scott) Thompson is a very, very good player, and (Nathan) Grima too,” McVeigh added.

"They'll look to have a really good team defence on our guys, I'm sure.

“(North's) defence has been working really well together and moving the ball out of their defence at a high speed.”

Geelong’s Tom Hawkins was able to get away from the Kangaroos’ backs late in last Friday night’s semi-final, and it a similar performance against the likes of Tippett and Lance Franklin could see them punished.

"If we can get some good supply to those guys, it's hard to stop.

"We'll do our homework and just try to play the way we want to play."
