Season highlight

Round 22 v Adelaide
- 24 disposals, 11 clearances

With the game in the balance and less than three minutes to go, there was a series of stoppages in Adelaide’s forward half. The North Melbourne captain managed to get first hands on almost all of them, clearing the danger and willing his side over the line in a thrilling finish.

Season in review

Returning from a torn Achilles suffered late in 2013, not many people would have predicted how smoothly Andrew Swallow fit back in to the North line-up.

After two scratchy outings to begin with, the captain picked up 21 disposals and 9 tackles against West Coast in Round 11 to get the ball rolling.

Swallow averaged almost seven clearances a game in his 18 appearances, a number good for third in the entire AFL. It was behind only Gary Ablett and Tom Liberatore.

To close the regular season, the captain had a three week stretch of 10, 11 and 10 clearances against Western Bulldogs, Adelaide and Melbourne respectively, showing just how valuable he is at the bottom of packs.

Swallow passed the 150 game milestone during 2014, and will prepare for his fourth season as captain in 2015.
