The Huddle has once again been recognised amongst some of the best community organisations in the state, nominated in the prestigious Melbourne Awards.

Named alongside other impressive not-for-profit organisations such as Whitelion,  Melbourne City Mission, Kids Under Cover and Inner Melbourne Community Legal, The Huddle faces stiff competition for this year's award.

The trophy cabinet in The Huddle is already filling up, after receiving the Minister’s Award at the Victorian Government’s 2014 Community Sport and Recreation Awards earlier this month, the Sports Leadership Award (National Migrations and Settlement Awards) in 2013, and the 2012 Victorian Premier’s Award for community harmony.

Lord Mayor Robert Doyle congratulated the shortlisted candidates for making a positive influence.

"This year’s finalist shortlist embodies the true spirit of this city, the most liveable in the world," Mr Doyle said.

"While they vary in their areas of focus and expertise, they are all exemplary in their commitment to raising the bar and making Melbourne a place we are proud of.

"Each corporation, community group and individual listed is an inspiration and we look forward to recognising their hard work and achievements at next month’s gala ceremony."

The Melbourne Awards will be announced at a black tie event at Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday, November 15.
