INTERNATIONAL rookie Eric Wallace will join Werribee’s VFL squad next season as he continues his rise through the AFL system.

The 25-year-old spent the last two years with North’s other partial affiliate, North Ballarat, and quickly became the Roosters’ first choice ruckman after making his VFL debut this year.

Wallace said he has full faith in the Kangaroos’ coaching staff.

“I trust the coaches (and) I trust the development coaches … they know what they’re doing as far as my development, and I think it’s the right move,” Wallace told NMFC.com.au on Friday.

“I know a lot of the guys on the Werribee team. The first year I got here, (senior coach) John Lamont was head of my development so it will be good to keep developing at Werribee.”

Wallace’s spot at the Roosters will be filled by 206cm ruckman Braydon Preuss, who was selected with pick No. 15 in the rookie draft.

Experienced duo Jarrad Waite and Shaun Higgins, who both joined Arden Street as unrestricted free agents, have also been placed on North Ballarat’s list, while selection No. 16 in the draft, Sam Durdin, rounds out the squad.

In other changes, recruits Daniel Nielson, Ed Vickers-Willis and Will Fordham have been added to Werribee’s VFL list.

Nielson and Vickers-Willis were selected with second-round draft pick Nos. 25 and 36, while Fordham joined the club with pick No. 33 in the rookie draft.

Werribee will become North Melbourne’s sole VFL-affiliated club from the end of next season.
