North Melbourne has passed another membership milestone in Tasmania, breaking the 5,000 mark for the first time.

With just a fortnight remaining until the clash against Richmond at Blundstone Arena, the club is already 800 members ahead of its 2014 total for Tasmania.

"We’re absolutely thrilled to announce we have now signed up our 5000th Tasmanian member, which is a significant achievement and a credit to the local fans," North CEO Carl Dilena told The Mercury.

"The fact that 5000 Tasmanians have joined as members is a great show of support for footy in the state."

Just 2,000 general admission tickets remain for the round six fixture, with a big crowd expected at the newly-redeveloped stadium.

"The message is clear to anyone who wants to come along – they need to pre-purchase their tickets now to avoid missing out," Dilena said.

An increased capacity at the venue is sure to make the Roos boast an even greater advantage at their home away from home.

"We’ve got three big games at Blundstone Arena coming up and the recently redeveloped Ricky Ponting Stand will enhance the match experience and atmosphere significantly," Dilena added.

"It all starts with a blockbuster against Richmond and we can’t wait to return to Hobart for it."

"Our Tasmanian members are very passionate and the fact we are up more than 1000 members on last year (at same time) shows their interest is significant and growing."
