Aaron Mullett has emerged unscathed from his first game back at VFL level on Saturday.

Returning from a shoulder injury, the running defender was eased in, playing only the second half for North Ballarat.

"He (Mullett) had 14 disposals in a half of footy which was a pretty good return," Development Manager Ben Dyer told NMFC.com.au.

Mullett had to find his feet quickly, with the Roosters under siege from Richmond.

"His focus was on making sure he defended hard one-on-one and he got the chance to do that with the amount of ball the opposition had.

"He got the collision he needed with the shoulder (after surgery), with a couple of tackles and a smother in there.

"When they are playing those first games back, you just want them to get through and find a bit of the ball, so he was able to do those things."

The Tigers booted ten second half goals to defeat the Roosters by 82 points.

It was Mullett's first game of the 2015 season, following surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder in January.
