Kayne Turner is in line to play his first VFL game of the season on Sunday, assuming he’s not called upon as an emergency against Essendon.

The youngster was rested last week after playing the first five games of 2015 with North Melbourne. He returns to a Werribee lineup that is flying high, boasting wins against Box Hill and Port Melbourne in the past fortnight.

The Tigers sit at 3-1 and face the ladder-leading Williamstown in a top of the table battle.

Daniel Currie has been in excellent form and will be relied upon to continue it in the ruck, with Majak Daw providing the support when he’s not playing in the forward 50.

Kieran Harper won’t play as he continues his recovery from knee soreness.

A day earlier, the Kangaroos’ players turning out for North Ballarat will be subject to a treat - able to run out in perfect conditions at Etihad Stadium against the Northern Blues.

The game is a curtain-raiser to Carlton’s home match against the GWS Giants, with a ticket covering the cost of watching both matches.

With the surface and conditions likely a new experience for the majority of players, the Roosters will be looking towards Aaron Black, Aaron Mullett and Joel Tippett for strong performances given the trio have played at the highest level on the ground.

North emergency Trent Dumont had a solid second half last week against Richmond’s VFL side in his first match for a fortnight, and will be looking for a similar performance over a full game in an attempt to break back into the senior side.

Aaron Mullett will also continue his road back to full match fitness after playing two quarters last week. His limited game-time still saw the left-footer collect 14 disposals, which augurs well for his chances of quickly returning back to peak form.
