At six wins and six losses, the next few weeks loom as vital to North’s chances of playing finals in 2015.

Finding the right mix becomes vital in the second half of the year, with every game holding huge importance.

While North had its shares of injury worries so far this year, most of its key players are now back on the field, and the competition for spots is heating up.

After a big win over the Giants, will Darren Crocker and the match committee stick with a winning formula? Or will they look to the VFL to further bolster the side for an important stretch of games?

Have your say on the potential changes in the comments section below.

Defenders

Despite a quieter game possession wise in the VFL a fortnight ago, Aaron Mullett received praise for his ability to quell his opponent’s influence.

With over a month of football since returning from a shoulder injury under his belt, Mullett looks ready to go if he gets the call-up.

Luke McDonald was equally impressive defensively at fellow affiliate Werribee, his third game at the VFL level and could be due for a recall.

Scott McMahon was the travelling emergency in Round 12 and is sure to be around the mark again.

Midfielders

Playing in the VFL for the first time since 2011, Ryan Bastinac handled his omission with aplomb, racking up 29 disposals, despite a tight tag.

Rookie Will Fordham continues his impressive form, but would need to be promoted to the senior list to play.

Forwards

Mason Wood is sure to come into consideration if the Roos want to stretch Gold Coast’s defensive group.

After a solid fortnight, Aaron Black is another player looking to make his return, having not played for North since Round 5.

Small forward Kayne Turner’s three-goal haul for Werribee wouldn’t have gone unnoticed, and his pressure around the ball could be handy against a Suns’ side boasting some dangerous rebounding defenders.

Meanwhile, Majak Daw’s strong form both up forward and in the ruck makes him hard to ignore.
