The North Melbourne Football Club would like to congratulate Hamish McIntosh on a fantastic AFL career.

Drafted by the Kangaroos in the 2002 Draft with pick 9, McIntosh played 107 games for the club and booted 59 goals.

McIntosh’s career at Arden Street spanned a decade and he was a much loved member of the club.

The ruckman was hampered by injuries in his first two years on the North list and eventually played his first game in the royal blue and white stripes in Round 6, 2005, against Adelaide.

In 2007 McIntosh was selected in the All-Australian squad.

“In his prime, Hamish was as good as any ruckman in the competition,” North coach Brad Scott said.

“It was a privilege to coach Hamish for a few seasons and he was an extremely popular member of the playing group and wider club.”

In 2010, McIntosh formed an effective combination with a developing Todd Goldstein and provided Scott with added flexibility on game days.

“Hamish played a very important role in Todd’s football education and really helped shape the player he is today,” Scott added.

“Hamish should be extremely proud of what he’s achieved in football.”

North Melbourne wishes Hamish all the best with his life after football and thanks him for his wonderful service during his time at the club.
