While North Melbourne struggled through the first half against St Kilda, one player continued to stand tall.

Andrew Swallow had 14 disposals in the opening two quarters to help his side stay in the game, despite the Saints’ dominance.

He was again influential in the premiership quarter, racking up eight possessions as North piled on nine goals to two to flip the game on its head.

The skipper finished the match with eight clearances and seven tackles, enough for the top votes from both Brad Scott and Alan Richardson.

Remarkably, despite a consistent season, it was just the second time Swallow has polled this year.

Perhaps the most vital player in the Roos’ comeback was Drew Petrie, and his 15 disposal, four-goal haul was rewarded with four votes.

Ben Cunnington also polled four, after registering 24 disposals, six clearances and five tackles.

Continuing his brilliant season, Todd Goldstein was handed three votes after amassing 39 hit-outs and 11 possessions.

Goldstein is now up to 73 votes, 12 behind second-placed Dan Hannebery on the overall leaderboard.

Ben Jacobs’ tagging role on Jack Steven, while himself netting 20 disposals was recognised with three votes.
