Saturday will mark the final VFL game of North Melbourne’s alignment with North Ballarat.

The eight year partnership brought tremendous success, with the Roosters winning three consecutive premierships from 2008-2010.

They were all under the guidance of Gerard FitzGerald, who will also coach his final game and end his career at the Roosters as the VFL record holder for most matches coached.

It will be a refreshed and strong North Ballarat side hitting the park on Saturday, with a strong Kangaroo presence across all lines.

Max Warren, Joel Tippett and Aaron Mullett will take their customary positions in the back six, while Brad McKenzie, Daniel Wells and Trent Dumont will be relied upon through the middle of the ground. Aaron Black and Braydon Preuss will provide the forward presence.

For the North-listed players at Eureka Stadium, it will be their last chance to push for a spot in the AFL side with the Roosters unable to make this year’s finals series.

Meanwhile at Werribee, John Lamont’s team enters the last round of the home and away season with a chance to secure a top four spot and the double chance.

Their match against Footscray will be televised live on Channel 7 into Victoria from 11:30am, with up to seven Roos likely to play.

Kieran Harper is coming off his best game of the year, the extra confidence in his body and fitness resulting in 19 disposals and five tackles. Although the half-forward role has multiple candidates to be filled for North, further strong performances from Harper will propel him into the selection conversation.

Kayne Turner’s another in a similar position, looking to find his way back into the Kangaroos line-up and add to his 10 season games. Daniel Currie will also increase his game time in his second match back from injury.
