The VFL finals series has arrived, and North Melbourne affiliate Werribee is set to be in action.

In finishing seventh, the Tigers have earned an elimination final at North Port Oval against Collingwood on Saturday afternoon.

The sides met once during the regular season, back in June at Victoria Park. On that afternoon, Werribee led by 20 points at half-time, before conceding 10 unanswered goals in the third quarter. It also turned out to be Leigh Adams’ last match due to a head knock.

Eligibility rules for the AFL players aligned with the Tigers won’t come into play unless the Kangaroos are eliminated from the finals series.

Werribee will have a full allotment of Roos to choose from for at least the next fortnight, and the earliest it would have to worry about eligibility would be for a potential preliminary final appearance.

Last weekend Werribee had six North-listed players in the side – Majak Daw, Daniel Currie, Mason Wood, Kayne Turner, Kieran Harper and Scott McMahon, with Will Fordham a late withdrawal due to general soreness.

The match will be televised live on Channel 7’s main channel for those in Victoria.

In the other VFL finals, Box Hill takes on Footscray, Essendon plays the Casey Scorpions and Sandringham comes up against Williamstown.
