Andrew Swallow will lead North Melbourne for a fifth straight year following an extensive and thorough voting process at Arden Street.

“Andrew has been an amazing leader, having led the group to two consecutive preliminary finals appearances and will continue to be a superb captain,” Scott told NMFC.com.au.

Jack Ziebell has been named vice-captain as part of a revamped leadership group.

“Jack has been elevated to sole vice-captain as we are well aware of his leadership credentials. He’s been identified as a future captain of our club, and if he is appointed captain in the future, he’ll be a terrific leader in his own right.”

Shaun Higgins, Jamie Macmillan and Scott Thompson will make up the rest of the five man leadership group.

Higgins joins the leadership group for the first time after crossing to the club from the Western Bulldogs as a free agent at the end of the 2014 season while Macmillan and Thompson will continue their existing roles.

Drew Petrie, Nick Dal Santo and Sam Gibson have stepped down from the group to help develop the club’s next batch of leaders.
