There was simply no denying Mason Wood an AFL game this week. His standout performance with Werribee in the VFL, too significant to ignore.

The agile forward forced his way back into the North side after doing everything that was asked of him. Against Footscray, the 22-year-old racked up four goals, 23 possessions, eight marks and four tackles. He’ll play just his second game for the year when he runs out against St Kilda on Sunday at Etihad.

In his first three games for Werribee, Robbie Nahas has been as impressive with his on-field leadership, defensive pressure and goal-kicking ability.

Elevated off the rookie list only on Thursday, the small forward comes straight into the side with Kayne Turner (hamstring) and Lindsay Thomas (suspension) out.

Nahas last played in the Kangaroos’ elimination final against Richmond in 2015.

Aaron Mullett has been placed on the emergency list yet again, with Brad McKenzie and Majak Daw also on standby.
