Summary

The Tigers have slipped to 12th on the VFL ladder and every game going forward is now like a mini final.

John Lamont's team has dropped its last seven games, with last week's 111-point defeat at the hands of Geelong perhaps its worst yet.

North Ballarat has had its struggles too, sitting on the bottom of the table with just two wins for the season. The Roosters' last victory came in Round 12 against Frankston.

"We’ll have a framework in terms of what we expect from the playing group and we’ll coach them and try to help them be the best players they can – but then they’ve got to go out there and execute.” – John Lamont to Star Weekly

The AFL contingent

North Melbourne (Werribee)

Declan Mountford continues to edge closer to an AFL debut, having been named as an emergency last week and backing it up as Werribee's best against Geelong.

The Tigers will welcome Corey Wagner back into the midfield mix, and he'll no doubt have plenty to prove after a stint in North's senior side.

Developing key-forward Ben McKay has shown some encouraging signs in the past month, despite limited opportunities for Werribee's forwards.

The VFL contingent

Werribee

Joe Maishman was able to get his hands on the ball last week, while Tom Gribble tried hard all day.

The pick of the Tigers' midfielders on a day to forget last week, Isaac Conway will be hoping to get have an impact around the stoppages once again.

Joel Tippett is nearing an AFL return after being named as an emergency.
