Majak Daw has credited Brent Harvey for playing a huge role in his development.

Harvey is set to break the all-time AFL.VFL games record when he plays for the 427th time next Saturday night, and Daw says he is desperate be a part of it.

“On a personal level, Boomer has done so much for me,” Daw told NMFC.com.au.

“Coming to the club, giving me my first jumper on my first day … he’s just taught me so many things.

“Just the little tricks … coming back when you’ve taken the mark, or creating some space to kick some goals; they are just things that no one would actually teach you unless you’d play the game for such a long time.”

Daw said Harvey deserves all the recognition he gets.

“We definitely value what he brings to our club,” he added.

“It’s going to be one of those things that you appreciate once footy finishes, but everyone’s pretty excited and hopefully we can win for him.”

Daw brought the crowd to its feet with a huge mark in the third quarter against Collingwood, which is sure to be shown in highlight reels for years to come.

The 25-year-old is hopeful of giving himself more opportunities to take to the air.

“It was a nice mark. Hopefully I can give myself a bit more space, because I’ve got the attribute to be able to.

“It’s just about when I play on the better defenders, just giving myself space to be able to run and jump at the ball.”
