North Melbourne can confirm Cameron Joyce as its new General Manager of Football.

Joyce will assume all managerial responsibilities in the football department with Geoff Walsh electing to hand over the reins ahead of season 2017.

Managing Director and CEO Carl Dilena said Joyce was well qualified for the position.

“Cam has been an integral part of our football department for many years,” Dilena said.

“He has an in-depth knowledge of our list and is certainly very well respected both internally and externally.”

Dilena said Walsh will continue as an integral member of the football department and still have an important influence over the club’s football operations.

“Geoff will actively support Cam and stay involved with the team and coaches in terms of selection, game day, staff mentoring and development as well as managing our VFL alignment with Werribee.”

With Joyce becoming the GM Football, North has appointed Michael McMahon to the role of List Manager.

McMahon joins North after working at Geelong and will commence on November 14.
