Quotes

“We try to work off each other, and the big thing is not to get in each other’s way.” – Waite on North’s forward setup

“I’m really excited to play again and really keen to have an impact on the younger fellas.” – Waite after signing a new one-year deal

What the coach said – Leigh Tudor

“Waitey was fantastic for us. He’s very much like Higgo (Shaun Higgins), in the way he prepares.

“He knows what he has to do to be at his best so he does everything he can to make sure he’s right for game day.

“His first eight or nine weeks really showed that, where he kicked 27 goals by Round 9. He was marking everything, and whenever we were in trouble he just seemed to pop up.

“It was really disappointing he went down and he tried his hardest to get back. Now that all those issues are fixed up, I’d expect Waitey to come back strongly.

“He’s going to be a really important leader for the forward group next year. It’s a massive strength of his to help out the other guys with his experience.”
