Quotes

“I’m just going to keep the pressure and the tackles up and hopefully everything else works out.” – Wagner before his AFL debut

"We don't really do all that emotional stuff, but when he does, I know he means it, which is really good." – Wagner about his brother Josh

What the coach said – Gavin Brown

“It was a really good season for Wags, who ended up playing four games in the AFL side.

“His ability to play his role for the side was impressive. He didn’t get overawed and knew exactly what he needed to do.

“He also had a really good VFL year. He reminds me of an Eveready battery, he just doesn’t stop.

“He’s really fit and from the first siren to the last siren, he’s going at the same speed.

“His fall of the ball work is as good as anyone we’ve got at the club, it’s as good as Lindsay’s (Thomas). It’s a real weapon for him.”
