Arden Street could make the “perfect” venue for VFL and women’s football, according to Managing Director & CEO Carl Dilena.

The ground is set to host its first game since 1985 as part of the JLT Community Series, and Dilena believes it could be more than just a one-off.

“I reckon it could be (a venue for more matches),” he told SEN.

“If we built in some of those facilities, we’d love to see VFL and women’s football played at Arden Street.

“I think it would be a perfect venue for it, particularly because of the new construction across the road of the Arden Street underground station. There will literally be a train station right across the road from the ground.”

North will play Hawthorn at Arden Street on February 26, with a capacity of around 5,000 people expected.

The game will be broadcast live across Australia on Fox Footy.
