Young talent time

Six new recruits and seven others yet to debut; North’s 29-man squad looks full of exciting youth on paper, but just how do the numbers stack up?

The average age of the squad to take on Sydney is more than four years younger than the team which took the field against Adelaide in last year’s Elimination Final.

Remarkably, North has 19 players aged 23 or under, and eight players under 20 in its squad.

North fans will have the chance to watch the next generation of stars in action in Coffs Harbour for the first JLT Community Series game.

Average age of 29-man squad for JLT 1: 23 years, 27 days*
Youngest player: Declan Watson, 18 years and 153 days

Average age of 2016 Elimination Final team: 27 years, 239 days
