Both coaches recognised Shaun Higgins as the best man on the ground during Sunday’s clash against Geelong.

Brad and Chris Scott awarded five votes each to the in-form midfielder for the AFLCA Coaches’ Champion Player of the Year.

Higgins sits equal-fifth in the league after the first two rounds, backing up last week’s three-vote performance with a perfect 10.

Spending more time around the ball, North’s number four had 27 disposals, booted 2 goals and laid 7 tackles in the loss to Geelong, pumping the ball inside 50 on 9 occasions.

Also with three goal assists, Higgins beat out Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood for best afield honours.

Ben Brown polled two votes after pulling down 6 marks and booting 3 goals, while Robbie Tarrant registered one for his 28 disposals, 9 marks and 8 rebound 50’s.

The reigning Syd Barker Medalist, Tarrant had a great duel with Tom Hawkins.
