North Melbourne will be without Aaron Mullett for the upcoming game at Blundstone Arena against the Crows, after he fractured a bone in his hand during the second quarter on Saturday night.

Playing the Gold Coast, the defender injured the 4th metacarpal in his right hand while spoiling Sun Tom Lynch.

“Aaron met with a specialist this morning and will have surgery to insert a small plate in his hand later this afternoon,” North doctor Peter Baquie told NMFC.com.au.

“After the procedure, it will simply be a matter of allowing the wound enough time to heal before he can return. We anticipate that will only be one to two weeks at the most.”

Mullett has enjoyed a solid start to the season averaging a career-high 22 disposals and is ranked third in the AFL for rebound 50s per game.
