After a tough loss to the Swans, North’s match committee may opt for change ahead of Sunday’s clash against the Demons.

The Roos will make a rare appearance at the MCG, with plenty of players pushing for spots.

NMFC.com.au looks at those in the mix for a call-up.

Midfielders

After 31 disposals in the VFL, Andrew Swallow will be hoping to gain a recall, with his experience potentially vital against a hard-nosed Demons’ on-ball brigade.

Declan Mountford didn’t play on the weekend as the match-day emergency, but his form at Werribee had been strong previously.

Mitch Hibberd has been finding plenty of the footy in the VFL too.

After only a game back in the development league, Ben Jacobs will likely need more time to build up match fitness.

Ruckman Braydon Preuss had another 45 hit-outs on the weekend and is no doubt hoping for another chance soon, while Majak Daw was in good touch despite a few weeks on the sidelines.

Defenders

Aaron Mullett didn’t quite come up last week in his bid return to return from a hand injury. Another week of training will have the running-defender in the mix once again.

Forwards

Suspended last week, Jarrad Waite was sorely missed in the Roos’ attacking half. He’s a near-certainty to return, given his form in Round 7.

North has taken a careful approach with Taylor Garner, but would welcome his physical presence in the forward line against some dangerous rebounding players from Melbourne.
