Ben Brown has moved to equal-second in the race for the Coleman Medal, after a bag of six goals on Saturday against Essendon.

The North key-forward equaled his career-high in a single match, after also booting six majors in the win over Gold Coast in Round 6.

After 17 games, Brown has already bettered his previous season-best by six, having kicked 41 goals from 22 games in 2016.

He sits level with the Bombers' Joe Daniher with 47 majors, with Lance Franklin currently out in front on 50.

Fellow forward key-forward Jarrad Waite has also been a solid contributor around the big sticks, booting 21 goals from just nine games.

The pair has combined for almost 35 per cent of all North’s scores in 2017.
