North Melbourne returns to Tasmania for its last match at Blundstone Arena for 2017, taking on Melbourne on Saturday.

Round 19 – Toyota AFL Multicultural Round

Multicultural Round highlights the contribution multicultural communities have made to the game’s history and welcomes new communities to embrace Australia’s game in the future.

North’s very own Majak Daw is one of the AFL’s 19 Multicultural Round ambassadors. As part of Multicultural Round there will be a series of performances pre-match on Saturday, presented by Spirit of Tasmania, both on the concourse at Blundstone Arena and on-field, including;

- Keep the Beat - African Drummer and Acrobat duo
- Tasmania Chinese Arts and Communications Society – Chinese Dragon and Lion Dance
- Rhythmx Bollywood Performance - Indian Belly Dancers

In addition to the above, there will be a Guard of Honour featuring 30 conferees from 17 different nationalities who will have become Australian citizens the night prior. Keep an eye out around the ground for a number of initiatives paying homage to the many cultures that make our game.

Partners

Jodi-Lee Foundation
Bowel cancer prevention charity The Jodi Lee Foundation is partnering with North Melbourne Football Club in Round 19 to raise awareness of Australia’s second biggest cancer killer.

Founder and CEO of The Jodi Lee Foundation, Nick Lee said, “The more people talk about bowel cancer, the more lives will be saved. We want to raise awareness around bowel cancer can and show that it can be a preventable disease when detected early.”

Every week bowel cancer kills as many Aussies as breast cancer, ovarian cancer and cervical cancer combined. The estimated number of new cases of bowel cancer diagnosed this year is predicted to reach 16,682. 90% of bowel cancers can be successfully treated or even prevented.

Taking a simple screening test is the easiest way to help make bowel cancer disappear. For more information visit jodileefoundation.org.au - #takethetest

Keep an eye out for a number of initiatives in support of DonateLife week.
