As many as five players could still land at Brisbane with the coveted No.1 pick, illustrating the evenness of this year’s draft.

While North’s first pick isn’t until three other clubs have selected, the club is poised to land a future star, such is the calibre of the top five.

Explosive midfielder Cameron Rayner has been previously linked with the opening selection, but the Lions are still in discussions as to who is the right fit for their club.

"We haven't come to a final decision as yet, we're certainly getting pretty close," Brisbane recruiter Stephen Conole told SEN.

"It's been reported there's probably four or so lads and I think that's pretty accurate.

"Those four are certainly still in the discussion, and there's probably a couple of those boys who are a little bit ahead.”

Players such as Luke Davies-Uniacke, Paddy Dow, Adam Cerra, Jaidyn Stephenson, Darcy Fogarty, Jack Higgins and Andrew Brayshaw and Hunter Clark are all considered likely top-10 selections.

North’s list management team has spoken openly about its need for outside pace, with several of the top prospects fitting the bill.
