North Melbourne legend Anthony Stevens has an urgent message for all men.

The two-time premiership champion has joined forces with the Roos’ charity partner, the Australian Prostate Centre (APC), to raise awareness around prostate cancer and the importance for all men to get their prostate checked.

Many men ignore the threat of prostate cancer, even though one in six will be diagnosed with the disease in Australia and almost 3500 will die from it.

The AFL is well supported by wives, partners and other family members - the people most likely to encourage the men in their lives to get checked.

APC recommends a baseline PSA (blood) test from the age of 40-years and testing every 1-2 years after age 50.

APC and North Melbourne are working closely together to ensure Australians, and in particular Australian men, to recognise the importance of prostate health.

Australian men should seek regular checks at APC – GET ON TO IT.
