With a JLT Series clash against premiers Richmond to come on Wednesday and Round 1 now only just over three weeks away, training at Arden St is starting to heat up. 

On Friday the boys underwent their first main skills session since the loss to Melbourne in Hobart, and the ensuing Community Camp in Tasmania. 

With big matches rapidly approaching, the session was focused around match tactics, with the groups spilt into their lines for more fine-tuning.

There was also an element of hard-running to the session, as the players look to hit their absolute peak ahead of the season-opener.

Trent Dumont impressed in the midfield group with his movement and skills. The number 14 has been consistent throughout the pre-season, and North fans will be hoping he can continue his solid form against the Gold Coast in Cairns in a few weeks’ time.

After developing one of the most iconic hairstyles in the AFL over the summer, Luke McDonald surprised many by showing up the day after team-photo day with a fresh trim. 

The gutsy defender turned on-baller was once again involved with midfield brigade, as he looks to move further up the field in 2018.

There were also positives on the injury front, with Mason Wood, Taylor Garner and Jy Simpkin all taking part in main training and match-sense drills.
