Despite recording one of its best wins in recent memory, it's likely North will be forced to make changes.

Shaun Higgins and Ed Vickers-Willis will undergo concussion tests before a decision is made on their availability, so there may be as many as two vacancies for the clash against Port Adelaide.

North’s VFL side was on the receiving end of a disappointing loss to Frankston, but there were some strong performers.

North Media looks at those in the mix for selection ahead of Saturday's match-up with the Power.

Defenders

Daniel Nielson impressed on the weekend, playing a dominant first half in the eyes of coach David Loader. Many of Nielson’s efforts weren’t reflected on the stats sheet, with his willingness to compete and impact contests a highlight of his game.

Ben McKay continues his impressive form, collecting 16 disposals, seven marks and three tackles.

After completing his third game in the VFL, Sam Wright’s return to the AFL nears. However, he may need to be given some more time to find some form now that his injuries are behind him.

Midfielders

Youngster Luke Davies-Uniacke was rested in Round 5, but is right in the mix to play this weekend. The 18-year-old is likely to be the perfect replacement for Higgins if he doesn’t get up.

After a 25 disposal game in Round 2, Mitchell Hibberd continued his red-hot form with another 25 touches. The 21-year-old featured prominently through the middle, but can also play in defence.

Paul Ahern also had no trouble finding the ball collecting 24 disposals, which included nine clearances. Ahern continues to improve week-by-week following a lengthy stint on the sidelines.

Ruckman Braydon Preuss recorded 46 hit-outs, but will need to remain patient given Todd Goldstein’s impact in the senior team.

Forwards

Nick Larkey continues to have no issues finding the big sticks, slotting another four goals.
