Fremantle is a chance to welcome back running midfielder Stephen Hill this weekend after the 28-year-old missed the last two rounds with a quad injury.

Hill suffered tightness in his quad late in Fremantle’s round seven loss to Richmond, but the club medical staff are confident he will be able to put his hand up for selection ahead of Sunday’s match.

“The clinical signs are very good,” Fremantle High Performance Manager Jason Weber told the club's website.

“He ran well last week, but had a little bit of soreness that we just wanted to get right.

“Hopefully by the end of this week we have a better outcome, and have him available for match committee.”

Key defender Joel Hamling is also like to be available for selection after receiving an errant elbow from Sydney’s Lance Franklin last Saturday night, which forced him from the ground.

“Hamling copped a nasty elbow which split his chin and gave him a good case of concussion,” Weber said.

“That will progress through the week, but with an eight day break, hopefully that will have a good outcome.”

Meanwhile, Bradley Hill and Harley Bennell will miss at least another week as they continue to return from their respective knee and calf injuries.

“Brad’s progressed really well,” Weber said.

“It’s very complicated issue from the injury had some weeks ago, but he’s back running on-field this week, so that will be a big step forward for him.

“(Harley) is doing well, he’s recovered well and he’ll continue to progress.

“He’s enthusiastic and got some skill, so hopefully he’ll be available at AFL level soon.”
