Tasmanian talents Harrison Gunther and Josh Grant have witnessed first-hand, the benefits of the talent pathway established between North Melbourne and the southernmost state.

The AFL hopefuls trained with the Kangaroos’ VFL team last week, under the watchful eyes of the club’s development coaches.

“It was a great opportunity to be able to come into Arden Street and practice with North’s VFL,” Gunther told North Media.

It wasn’t the first interaction the pair has had with North with both young men helping out at Community Camp in February.

Along with the AFL playing list, Gunther and Grant worked across the state to host clinics with schools and various community groups.

“It gives the kids something to look forward to and someone to look up to,” Grant said.

The Roos are allowed extra VFL list changes to help develop Tasmanian talent and provide more exposure.

North Melbourne has vowed to continue to seek new and innovative ways to provide talent pathways, particularly for players in Tasmania.
