After fourth months of searching, Jack Ziebell has been reunited with his beloved dog, Flash.

The North's captain's German Shorthaired Pointer pup was taken from outside his family home in Wodonga in March, sparking a desperate public plea and social media campaign to find him.

Ziebell and his family never gave up hope of finding Flash, and their faith was rewarded when Jack's father, Gary, was contacted via Facebook.

"Dad had been posting on social media, and a lady contacted him yesterday saying she thought
she may have Flash," Ziebell explained to North Media.

"Dad and I had been getting lots ofphotos of different dogs sent to us on social media, but this time, it was actually Flash."

From Geelong, the woman explained her husband bought the dog and brought him home to the family farm.

"She's seen dad's post, which had had about five-thousand likes, and thought Flash looked pretty familiar," Ziebell continued.

"She reached out to him and sent some photos and dad knew straight away that it was Flash.

"I'm just so happy to have him back. He's doubled in size from when I saw him last!"

Ziebell and Flash made headlines in the pre-season - even veteran journalist, Tony Jones, joined the search effort with a special story on 9 News ahead of North's JLT match against Richmond.

Jack travelled to Geelong to pick Flash up on Thursday and their emotional reunion was captured by housemate Jy Simpkin.

"I'm just so happy," Ziebell said.

"I was never going to give up hope, but you get to a point where you realise it's more unlikely as time goes on. I'm just so thankful to the lady for making contact with dad and for doing the right thing."
