Former North Melbourne development coach John Lamont has called time on his coaching career at the Werribee Football Club.

Last night Lamont informed the Board of his decision to step down, at season's end.

“After five years as senior coach – and three prior to that as part of the North Melbourne side of the alignment – I think it is time to look at what the next stage of my professional life might look like," Lamont said.

"I think the club is in good shape to build for the future.

“It has been a really interesting and enjoyable journey, and I take away many fond memories and some great friendships.”

North would like to thank Lamont for his work over the years, and wishes him well for the future.
