Adelaide will play its best available team in the final two matches of the season, as it aims to finish 2018 on a positive note.

While the Crows are still a slim chance of playing in September, they’ll be reliant on other results going their way, and big wins against North and Carlton.

Taylor Walker will miss Sunday’s clash against the Kangaroos due to suspension, but the Crows will otherwise be close to full strength.

“We’ve got to finish the season as strongly as we possibly can, and we need to pick a team that we think can beat North Melbourne,” Adelaide assistant coach Matthew Clarke said.

“I think you can get yourself in a bit of trouble if you start tampering with that too much.

“Finishing out the season with real strength will be the number one priority.

“It’s our last home game in front of members who had a lot of joy last year and not a lot this year, so they probably deserve a performance that can give them a bit of pride.”

The likes of Daniel Talia, Sam Jacobs and Riley Knight, who have battled injuries in recent months, won’t necessarily be put on ice over the next fortnight, according to Clarke.

“If players aren’t fit to play then they won’t get picked, and if there’s guys in the SANFL that warrant selection then they’ll get picked,” he said.

Former Roo Sam Gibson, who announced he’ll retire at season’s end, is no guarantee to be given a farewell game against his old side this weekend, with Clarke assuring that the focus is firmly on finishing the season strongly.

“We look to this week and trying to put in a really strong performance,” he added.

“Those situations are a part of football, you have a debut and you have a final game, I don’t think you’re warranted an extra one because you’re nearing the end of your career.

“You value every game, and if your last one’s in June or in September, then so be it.”
