North Melbourne ruck recruit Tom Campbell is relishing the chance to work with one of the best in the game, Todd Goldstein.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to work alongside Todd Goldstein, and see how one of the very best in the competition goes about his business,” Campbell told North Media.

“Hopefully I can work really hard through the pre-season and learn as much as I can from him.”

Campbell joined the club under the new pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP), after he was delisted by the Western Bulldogs.

“It’s a difficult thing to be delisted by a footy club.

“There was a lot of uncertainty about where my footy would end up, but it’s fantastic to get the opportunity to continue my AFL dream with North.”

The former Bulldog has re-united with a familiar face in former teammate and current North ruck coach Will Minson.

“It’s really exciting to back with Will (Minson),” Campbell said.

“We had a number of years together at the Bulldogs and we had a great relationship, and he was a mentor of mine in my early years at the Bulldogs.

“I’m really looking forward to continuing that partnership and learning as much as I can.”

Having joined the club officially on Monday, Campbell has loved his start to life as a Kangaroo.

“I’m incredibly excited. It’s been a whirlwind experience so far trying to meet everyone and see how the club operates, but it’s been fantastic so far,” he added.

“I’m really looking forward to putting in a body of work in the pre-season and gaining the respect of the players and coaches, and hopefully get my first guernsey for North Melbourne.”
