North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos' captain and star midfielder Emma Kearney has had her dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over GWS recognised in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year voting. 

Kearney was exceptional in difficult conditions, collecting 22 disposals and making eight tackles, earning herself 9 out of a possible 10 votes. 

Fellow Kangaroos Jess Duffin, Kate Gillespie-Jones, Jenna Bruton and Jasmine Garner also received votes for their contribution to the win.

Garner’s three votes sees her lead the team in votes across the season, and has her equal fourth in the overall league-wide standings.
