Jed Anderson became a Kangaroo at the end of 2015 after a trade deal which involved an exchange of draft picks with Hawthorn.

Able to play both forward and in the midfield, he boasts an outstanding attack on the football, with his run and carry also a feature of his game.

Anderson played 10 games for Hawthorn between 2013-2015.

Jed Anderson catapulted himself into North Melbourne’s best 22, exhibiting a hard-edged style that drove the club’s recruiters bring him to Arden Street at the end of 2015.

Following a tough 2017, Anderson impressed in a VFL practice match in March, which saw him selected in the senior side for Round 1. From that point on, he only missed one game for the remainder of the year with a minor hamstring complaint seeing him sidelined for the Round 12 clash with Geelong.

The midfielder recorded a career-high 28 disposals in Round 8 against the Tigers, as well as a personal best number of tackles in Round 5’s win over the Hawks, laying 9 for the match.

Anderson signed a contract at the end of the year, locking in his future at Arden Street until at least the end of 2020.

2017

A mixture of form and injuries limited Anderson to only a handful of AFL appearances in 2017.

Although he only played five games at AFL level, Anderson was a part of wins against the Suns, Crows and Lions, highlighting his importance to the side when on song.

2016

Forwards Coach, Leigh Tudor

“He came to the club early in pre-season and he earned the respect of the players by doing that.

“That’s how he was for the whole pre-season, keen, ready to learn and then unfortunately in Round 1 he hurt his hamstring and missed a lot of weeks with that.

“It (the injury) really set him back and it was a great effort to get back in the side but I just can’t wait to see him with a full pre-season.

“He understands the way we want to play, we can work on the things to improve and he has some really good assets that we like.

“The stretch of consecutive games would have been good for him, even though he thought he had things to improve on from later in the year.

“There’s a bit of work to do on things like finding more of the ball, but overall we were happy with him and next year is a big year for him.”
